Is Surrendering to God Worth It?

Matthew 10:39: “He who finds his life will lose it, and he who loses his life for my sake will find it.”

Trust God’s goodness and wisdom. Surrendering leads to lasting satisfaction. Our will can align with God’s if we trust Him.

Surrender doesn’t always mean more suffering. Suffering happens regardless; surrender is about obedience and giving up idols.

God created our ability to enjoy life and offers living water (John 4:14). Idols are temporary (Jeremiah 2:13).

God is in control and may take things away for our good. Not surrendering leads to regret and missed blessings.

Samson’s wife suffered by giving into fear, losing what she tried to save (Judges 15:6).

Jesus taught to “count the cost” of following Him (Luke 14:25-33), but it’s worth it. Turning from Jesus risks eternal rewards (1 Corinthians 3:15) and consequences (Hebrews 12:5-11).

If unsaved, call on Jesus as Lord (Romans 10:9-13). God can change your heart (Ezekiel 36:26), making you a new creation (2 Corinthians 5:17).

Matthew 19:16-26: A man couldn’t give up riches, but “with God all things are possible.” Admit idols and ask for a changed heart.

Pray honestly, admitting reluctance but trusting God’s plan. Ask to avoid unnecessary suffering. God will change your heart and give joy, peace, and satisfaction (Matthew 10:39).
