Is It Biblical to Believe in Ghosts?
Q:
“My aunt has had paranormal experiences. One time other family members were there [validating her experiences]. Would God allow the deceased to visit her?”
A:
It's hard to know what exactly is causing your aunt's experiences, but the Bible does not say that God allows deceased people to visit their family members, and shows that souls are either in heaven or hell (2 Corinthians 5:8; Luke 16:23).
We can assume that God would not send the deceased to contact us, since we are not meant to contact them; in the Old Testament, trying to contact them was forbidden and considered an abomination to God (Deuteronomy 18:11).
Based on the details of her experiences, one possibility is that they are caused by demons, especially since the devil can appear as an angel of light (2 Corinthians 11:14) and seeks to deceive people. Even though your aunt may not have any experience trying to interact with spirits, it's possible that demons are seeking to mislead her. It's a good idea to caution her to not try interacting with any spirits but to only seek Jesus and pray when she has these experiences.
