Before you get married…

1. Ask God about your relationship

· Pray and ask God if this is the person He wants you to be with.

· Put God first in your relationship. Are you dating someone who is also a Christian? And if yes, does he/she love God whole-heartedly? “Do not be unequally yoked together with unbelievers. For what fellowship has righteousness with lawlessness? And what communion has light with darkness?” — 2 Cor 6:14

· Commit to purity! Some people say it’s too late and it doesn’t matter. Yes, it does! Even if you’ve made mistakes in the past, you can live for God from now on.
“For this is the will of God, your sanctification: that you should abstain from sexual immorality” — 1 Thessalonians 4:3

2. Ask yourself questions

These are some great questions to ask yourself about your relationship and your readiness to get married:

3. Ask each other questions

Work out any differences you have before you get married!

I’ve made this marriage questionnaire based on ones I’ve found online. Print this and fill it out, and have your fiance do the same. Then bring both to your pastor or a marriage counselor and work through issues together.
