2 Peter 1 Challenge

“And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge; And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness; And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.”

Faith

Faith in Jesus as the foundation (1 Corinthians 3:11)

Virtue

Having valor; strength of mind (Proverbs 31:29; search Strong’s G703 and G730)

Knowledge

Studying God’s Word to know doctrines (Hebrews 5:9 through 6:2)

Temperance

Being sober minded, under the control of the Holy Spirit, yielded to Him in order to have real self-control (1 Corinthians 9:25-27)

Patience

Trusting God’s wisdom and love in order to wait well (James 5:11)

Godliness

Being devout; reverent (2 Peter 3:11; search Strong’s G2150, G2152, G2095, and G4576)

Brotherly kindness

Fellowshipping with other believers to motivate them to grow; “provoke to love and good works” (Hebrews 10:24-25)

Charity

Caring for the needs of others selflessly (1 Corinthians 13:1-8)
