Christian Life Coach

About

If you are struggling to find real change in life, I would love to help! I'm passionate about helping believers pursue God's will in every area of their lives, with some specific areas of focus: resolving issues in relationships, finding assurance of God's love, changing unwanted thoughts and feelings, overcoming anxiety, and becoming efficient in service. In addition to coaching, I also provide content and community.

Education and Experience

I am trained as a Licensed Coaching Minister through Christian Leaders Institute, and have a B.A. in Bible from Pensacola Christian College. I have also studied marriage counseling and peacemaking. You may ask for records of completion to be sent to you privately.

Since June 2017, I have been a spiritual coach at JesusCares.com, a chat ministry where I have been able to encourage thousands of believers in need of support and lead others to begin their walk with God. Since December 2022, I've also led a small group for accountability and motivation.

Some of my experiences have led to valuable lessons that :

  • After my mom passed away unexpectedly when I was 12 years old, I felt incapable of managing my own life. For 20 years, my life was a mess – until finally, I found solutions that were life-changing! I have also mentored volunteers in ministry and am aware of the obstacles that hinder many people from acting on opportunities to serve.
  • At one point, my social anxiety was so terrible that I simply stayed in the church lobby during the service, and left immediately to avoid interacting with people. Eventually (by God's leading and a revelation He gave me one day), I learned to experience His peace to overcome my fears.
  • As a result of many struggles, I've discovered techniques to overcome unwanted thoughts, feelings, and associations.
  • I have been married since 2011 and have also experienced challenges in several friendships. As a result, I have learned much about recognizing personal flaws, communicating openly, and resolving problems with understanding of others’ perspectives.

    What to expect

For general life coaching: Since we as believers are called to be a “living sacrifice” (Romans 12:1), I promote life coaching that is focused on making the most of our time on earth to serve God and “lay up treasures in heaven” rather than earth (Matthew 6:19-20).

If you have goals for ministering to others, whether outreach events at church or posting regularly on a blog or any other ministry projects, I'm here for support with time management, consistency, and overcoming fears related to speaking to others.

I offer accountability with goals; if you’d like, this would not only be in weekly sessions, but also throughout the week by text. (Accountability is proven to increase productivity for many people!)

You can expect to take action during sessions, from finishing tasks to working on your mindset to break out of thinking patterns you want to change.

    For spiritual OCD support:

You can expect an emphasis on Scripture and a space to share your struggles with doubt and intrusive thoughts. I will encourage mental techniques that help to overcome these issues and find assurance of God's love.

    For social anxiety support:

Our minds are renewed by God's Word, and repeating certain truths to ourselves will gradually change how we feel. My approach is Biblical and psychological, based on my own experience of overcoming. I will encourage you to take small steps in social situations - for your own peace and freedom, and for serving others!

For overcoming unwanted thoughts, feelings, and associations:

Whatever holds emotional significance for us has the power to captivate our mental attention, whether it's temptation, something we are afraid of, something we catch ourselves ruminating about, or simply negative associations with certain things. With mental techniques, it's possible to replace unwanted thoughts with what we do want to think about, and what you focus on grows. During sessions, you will have the opportunity to target specific thoughts you want to change, and the more you practice, the more you will see improvement!

    For relationship coaching:

Expect a safe space for you to share your struggles in relationships (marriage, family relationships, and friendships) as well as advice based on Scripture and what has been effective in my own life.

I can help you discover ways to understand others' perspectives and how to communicate effectively.

I will also share techniques to change the course of your conversations as well as ideas to change long-standing habits that affect your relationships.

    Cost

Rather than charging a set fee, I accept “voluntary payments” (which may be considered donations, except that they are not tax-deductible). Paying for support can be a powerful motivator, encouraging you to take a more active role in your progress.
